„You can only truly learn a language as a child.” That’s the biggest lie in language learning.

Maybe you’ve repeated it to yourself for years as an excuse to never try, or as the reason you gave up after one disappointing course in your thirties. Where the myth came from

The idea is called the critical period hypothesis. Children’s brains are still developing, so kids can lean on both hemispheres when they acquire a language, weaving in the emotional, social right-brain side along with the analytical left-brain side.
